Shizuku guide

Before you start

Find your Android version and phone brand

Two things decide which steps you need: which Android version runs on your phone, and who made it. Both are in Settings.

On this page

Open Settings

  1. Find the Settings app. Its icon is a grey gear. Swipe up from the bottom of your home screen to see all your apps if it isn't on the home screen.

  2. Tap Settings to open it.

  3. See a search bar at the top? Remember it. You can type any menu name from this guide into it to jump straight there.

Find your Android version

  1. Scroll to the very bottom of Settings.

  2. Tap the last entry. It is called About phone on most phones. The table below shows the other names.

  3. Look for a line called Android version. Its number (for example 14) is your Android version.

  4. Can't see it? Tap Software information or Version if you have one, or type Android version into the Settings search bar.

Where each brand keeps About phone

Google Pixel, Fairphone, Motorola, Nothing, Sony, ASUSSettings, then About phone
SamsungSettings, then About phone, then Software information
Xiaomi, Redmi, POCOSettings, then About phone
OnePlus, OPPO, realmeSettings, then About device
vivo, iQOOSettings, then About phone or Settings, then About device
Tecno, Infinix, itelSettings, then My phone
Lenovo tabletsSettings, then About tablet
Google TVSettings, then System, then About

Some brands show their own name and number first, such as One UI, HyperOS or OxygenOS. That is the brand's skin on top of Android, not the Android version. Keep looking for the line that says Android.

Huawei and Honor: EMUI 12 is Android 10 underneath, so it has no Wireless debugging. Honor's MagicOS 7 and newer is Android 13 or newer.

Find your phone brand

The brand is usually printed on the back of the phone, and its model name sits at the top of About phone. Some brands sell phones under other names, and they share one page here:

  • Redmi and POCO are Xiaomi.
  • iQOO is vivo.
  • OnePlus, OPPO and realme share the same base, so they share a page.
  • CMF is Nothing.
  • Infinix and itel go with Tecno.
  • Fairphone is close to plain Android, so it goes with Pixel.

Now pick your way
